Bio

Stewart Whelan

Owning his first camera at age eleven, Stewart began a journey to pursue his passion for storytelling and creating images.

After he graduated from the College of Marketing & Design in Dublin, he began working in the camera department on feature films. This provided him the opportunity to work along side some of worlds top directors and cinematographers on many notable projects, including Braveheart, In the Name of the Father, Cold Mountain, Juno & The Hurt Locker.

His experience working with Hollywood's ‘A’ list of cinema has matured his visual ability beyond his years, yet his youth — and enthusiasm — keeps him keen on new formats and visual techniques.

In 2012 Stewart was honoured to receive the Emerging Cinematographer Award from the International Cinematographers Guild.
